Catalyst: Teacher Leadership
November 10-12, 2018
Even though only approximately two-thirds of the Revolve alumni base is still directly involved in education, almost every single one of us has been a teacher at one point or another. This means that we all know how physically, emotionally, and mentally demanding the job is. Things become even more complicated when teachers are given additional leadership responsibilities that they must balance on top of their day to day duties as an educator. While these leadership opportunities enable us to grow our skillsets and flex new muscles, they oftentimes can feel like a burden, especially if not given the proper training and support to carry out these additional tasks. Teachers tend to be natural problem solvers and critical thinkers, thus we can “make it by” with praise and affirmation from others, but imagine how much more effective and efficient we could be if equipped with the proper tools? Come to Catalyst: Teacher Leadership to collaborate and network with other educators experiencing the same challenges, as well as learn new strategies on how to maximize your potential as a teacher leader. This Catalyst is geared toward current teachers and educational leaders, but all are welcomed.
WHO SHOULD APPLY
Catalyst: Teacher Leadership is seeking current teachers who hold additional leadership responsibilities within their school and are looking for development in these roles. These responsibilities could include but are not limited to mentor teacher, grade level chair, department head, committee chair, or teacher coach. All levels of experience are welcomed.
