Harry Potter and the Power of Storytelling
August 9-August 11
Stories are a universal form of communication that connects us to the world and to each other. They require collaboration and provide communities with meaning-making, shaping individual and collective identities. Stories also engage our imaginations and foster empathy that can break barriers and generate action for social change. Catalyst: Harry Potter and the Power of Storytelling will use the fantastic stories of Harry Potter to spark a weekend of exploring the magic of storytelling through examining different types of stories (stock, concealed, resistance, and transforming), elevating our own stories and the stories of our communities, and cultivating empathy in order to advance the Jewish value of Tikkum Olam.
